THE SECOND MAJOR PROBLEM WITH RELIGIONS
Even most non-believers believe that religion is an innocuous, comfort-giving pursuit of laudable teachings, and so it is, when practiced in a closed society of harmoniously programmed thinkers. However, today we are no longer insulated in small isolated communities. We live in a world community of diverse thinkers, with eleven main competing religions, and because each promulgates only his own unique God, there are proprietary and opposing religious convictions, some with a fanatical devoutness that easily turn to violence.Universal belief in a supreme God would in itself be harmless and perhaps be beneficial to a sense of well-being. Such a general belief would not repudiate the God of other religions, and might even contain an element of truth. However, an instilled belief-that began as a human cult, and is by no means universal-in a unique, personal God, who created the universe, is a man-made concept that denies and challenges the authenticity of all other religions, and becomes a permanently recurring reason for conflict throughout the world.
In such areas of conflict among tribes of differing religious beliefs, where aberrant behavior and killings have gone on for thousands of years, no one opinionated side is about to change, and accept blame - if there is blame - for each side sees itself as being a victim of the opposing evil party, and never as a victim of its own programming.
Since the Third Reich made its case for the purification of an Arian race, the world has seemingly rushed into producing multi-racial conglomerates to prove them wrong. If we project our present course through the next few centuries there will be no racial differences. Today, every developed country is in the process of becoming a melting pot for the people of the third world, who are seeking to elevate their economic base. Only our religious differences will survive over the years to be cause for future conflict, because we perpetuate our programming in our young, and in the "taking of sides."
Religious freedom is politically expedient in any country of diverse beliefs. Government tolerance of conflicting religions, under a "religious freedom" policy, allows for a less turbulent control, but opinionated differences still surface in violence within these tolerance zones. Religious opinion is creating violence and murder in the name of righteousness around the abortion clinics. In fact, religious opinion is causing mayhem in practically every corner of the present-day world. The only alternative to religious freedom and tolerance is no religion, a tack prematurely used by the defunct Soviet Union, but without any attempt at reprogramming the populace to a secular substitute.
Unless "melting pot countries"-such as America, Canada, Australia, England, and others-realize the inherent risk in welcoming diversified religions to their shores, and psychologically prepare their subjects, they are heading for a future of internal confrontation and bloodshed. The accompanying bias and intolerance for alternate religions will again emerge and spawn hate. The balance of power among the different creeds is already changing, and those of a predominant religion will inevitably try to change the smaller factions. No amount of legislated religious tolerance will restrain the religious slaughter that will ensue.
Language, color, and creed, are all dividing differences, but only the last demands either conformity or annihilation. Language and color are superficial differences, easily understood, and overcome in this day and age. Creed is inculcated from birth to become an integral part of us. It is creed that makes the world a killing stage. Different creeds either live in uneasy co-existence - ready to explode - or are already engaged in bloody conflict. -- Excerpt from the book "Who's Pulling Your Strings", by John Cleverly
